Dreams...
Sunday, May 23, 2004 at 6:54AM I just woke up and I had a really strange dream that I thought I needed to write about. It went as follows: I was at a baseball game with my dad and my brothers. It wasn't professional, because it wasn't at a stadium, it was more like a high school game. It must have been up on a hill because you could see over the whole town from where we were sitting. There were about eight or nine of those really tall red and white antenna towers scattered about the town. We were sitting there peacefully watching the game, when we saw a large explosion underneath one of the towers. It was followed by an explosion underneath the second tower. And third. And so on. One by one, the towers toppled down, crushing much of the town. I jumped on the ground and covered my head as dust and debris came flying everywhere. We were under attack by terroists.
I woke up, only to fall asleep later and have the same dream...different version. I was at the same baseball game but this time I was working. I was a WQAD news photographer. While shooting the game, I noticed small explosions in the horizon. The game stopped, people screamed, I immediately shifted my attention to the explosions. The explosions got closer, blowing up buildings. We were under attack by terrorists. I knew that this would be the biggest event since 9/11, I knew that my video would be plastered all over CNN and other news stations all over the country and the world for weeks to come. But then my camera blinked that irritating red light and beeping sound. Yes, I was out of tape. And I had no more tapes. So I was not able to capture the major explosions. Then I woke up. Strange dream...stranger ending.
