Subway
Monday, October 17, 2005 at 5:46PM So, I am still reaping the benefits of my ex-Subway employee status. I stopped in at the Grayslake Subway today for lunch. I got helped by a guy named Leo, who likes to talk a lot and has an accent from an undeterminable country. He knew me, since he worked there back in my day, about 6 years ago. Thinking that I would have to shell out 6 bucks for my food, Leo generously gave me my food for free. I sat down to eat my sandwich. It just so happened that Leo was clocking out soon after, so he thought it would be a good idea to sit down at my table and interrupt me in the middle of the magazine article I was reading. I did not pay for my sandwich in cash, but I did pay in the form of a 20 minute conversation with Leo. Nothing in life is free.
