Alkaline Trio
Sunday, June 19, 2005 at 7:50AM Mosh pits are an interesting experience. It's as if 100 people have merged into one big blob, so no one person has control over anything. If the crowd moves, you move too, you have no choice. You constantly have to be on the guard for flying knees and elbows, and that sweaty fat man who insists he take his shirt off. I Went to the Alkaline Trio concert in Chicago with Sam yesterday where we were center-stage right in the pit. The crowd was crazy! I've never been knocked around so much in my life. It was a great time though, even though my arm hurts and my left side is probably bruised. I had a great time. I must have lost 5 pounds just by sweating. I felt so incredibly gross. At least I was wearing a shirt which soaked up the sweat and created at least a partial sweat-free zone between me and the person I'm sandwhiched up against.
We were going to go out for drinks after, but we were so sweaty that I didn't really want to be anywhere public. On the walk back to our car, this black gangsta came up to us and tried to deal us some crack. I didn't want anything to do with the crack dealer, so I ignored him pulled out my phone and talked to Brian. For some reason Sam struck up a conversation with him and they talked for 10 minutes while walking down the street. Sam can become friends with anyone...even a crack dealer.
