Entertainment at the gas pump
Sunday, October 22, 2006 at 3:38PM I gassed up my car the other night at the Shell station in Gurnee. While I was taking the gas cap off my tank, I heard this loud voice from behind me...and it scared the crap out of me. But it was not a real person that was talking to me, it was the gas pump. All the pumps at the station now have TV screens built in. When you arrive at the pump, it welcomes you. Then while you are pumping, you get to watch various commercials, movie trailers, stand-up comedy clips, even a weather forecast from an NBC 5 weather man. It's pretty ingenious I think. Because really, what else do you have to do while pumping your gas?

I am sitting here laughing my ass off right now. The same thing happened to me a couple of weeks ago in Roselle. I'm surprised I didn't drop the pump.
