I am not a magician
Wednesday, December 13, 2006 at 12:56PM At the access studio, sometimes it baffling what people expect from me. For example, someone recording on the street interviews next to busy highway on a cheap consumer camcorder with no external microphone obviously is not going to sound that great. If it's recorded like crap, then that's the way it's gonna sound. I can't wave a magic wand to make your audio somewhat listenable. Example number 2...someone was upset that a guest on their show looked "too wrinkly" on camera and asked if there was anything we could do with the lights to make her less wrinkly. Yeah...we could turn off the lights! I didn't say that, but I should have. Old people are wrinkly, get over it. I can't chant abracadabra to make your skin look like a 20 year old's.
